Reset Media Center (Specifically TV Tuners)

Is there a way to basically purge the tv tuner settings from media center? I've got a different tuner configuration i'm trying to setup and i need to basically purge my current settings to accomplish this. I've tried finding utilities with no luck.

Thanks in advance.

This will not work for me; I did try that prior to coming here to look for a solution. When I begin the TV setup the process crashes. I'm pretty sure the crash is the result of my having tried an older driver for a tuner that will not work in vista. The only solution I've thought (though not tried) is to upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate to itself. Anyone have any better ideas. The two KB articles I've found that seem to apply were both superseded by SP1.

Same here. Even tried deleting registry entry and user profiles with no luck. Ended up just starting from scratch. Wanted to try the new TV pack anyway, which works very well.

Upgrading with out formatting won't help either.

Thanks for that. I too tried deleting all the registry entries and files related to that Evcapmaui tuner; but there is one that refuses to go. I've looked for TVPack, where did you find it?

Well my tuner is working well with SageTV I am not certain that I'm willing to format for WMC.

I know that feeling. For me, it was time anyway but I couldn't bring myself to wipe my pc just for TV.

you can google for it and find some download links and there are some torrent links as well, since its legal shouldn't be a problem.

I don't normally DO google and download stuff pointed to there, I just do not trust the business model they use. It is never a good time for a fresh install, the last time I felt compelled to do that was in Windows '95. I've never found a reason to since.

Then use a different search engine, but Google is the best. Also downloads are entirely voluntary and nothing to do with Google itself.
Sometimes the only way to repair Vista is to format and reinstall. It isn't really that painful a thing to do.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on all of those issues. Format and reinstall is very painful. Google's business model sucks. Downloads for my operating system that do not come from MS are not to be trusted. There are many options other than a format, possibly not for WMC which I am totally willing to do without.

MS don't make the majority of the software and drivers you need for your system. What they do offer by way of Microsoft Updates is usually outdated with what is available on the manufacturer's website.
