Re: DVD/CD player spins constantly

i have a few questions for you

1. has the drive always performed the way it is now.
2. can you use the drive, e.g. watch a DVD
2.what speed is the drive (x8/x16 etc.)
3. have you installed any new drivers - if so, check if they are compatable with x64 (64bit)
4. is there an existing conflict between the drivers/software

Re: DVD/CD player spins constantly

if you have the driver on a CD that came with the drive, you could try uninstalling it, and then reinstalling it from the CD. if you dont have the CD, check with the manufacturer to see if you can download it from their website

if you can, then follow the steps below.

go to start menu, in the search box at the bottom, type "device manager" and click enter

then click "DVD/CD - ROM drives" in the list, and then right click the the drive you are having a problem with. then click uninstall and follow the steps to finish it.

then restart you computer.....

then reinstall from the CD/Internet, and see if this solves your problem.

if it doesnt, it may be the case that the drivers you are being supplied are not compatable with your system.

you may also want to try installing them by running the installation with administrator privillages (right click and then click "run as administrator"

Re: DVD/CD player spins constantly

Or the other way is that you can try to install the driver by right clicking on the DVD drive you have & then click on update driver. And make sure you select install driver for a list. And choose cd-rom when gives you the list of drivers.
