Vista - Media Center will not run after reinstall

Okay I basically have the same problem. My hard drive crashed and I had to install a new one, reinstalled Windows Vista, but Media Centre is nowhere to be found.

Searched for %SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe as barman58 suggested.

However, the following error message pops up "Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy. Contact your system administrator."

I am moving your topic off to a new topic as your issue is not quite the same as the one you responded to.

Now, can you detail the process by which you 'reinstalled Vista' on your machine? Also, machine specifications would be helpful, such as if this is a home built machine or a machine purchased from an OEM, etc...

I had to reboot the machine.

It's a Dell 1525 Inspiron
32-bit OS

Sorted.
control panel- default program - set access and computer defaults - custom - choose a default media player.

Clicked Windows Media Centre
The Icon then appeared in the start list.
