Can't Play DVDs - Windows can't access the specified device

Hello,

I am very frustrated right now with Vista. I have a lot of issues lately and I have been reading different threads here and nothing. It's very slow and it freezes every time.

My biggest problem right now is that my computer won't play DVDs anymore. This just started recently, I used to watch DVDs all the time without a problem. Every time I inserted the DVD, it will ask me what I wanted to do. Now, nothing happens. I try to access the DVD with a double click and it says:

"Windows can't access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the system"

Now, this is a joke. I am the only user on my laptop, I'm the administrator and until few weeks ago, I was able to enjoy my movies. Now, I just can't. I read on another thread to remove the update file KB943899, I did and it's the same.

I have an Acer Aspire 5610 laptop. It runs with Windows Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.

I need help please!!!!!
