Help getting AVerTV Card to function in Laptop

Hi.
I bought a Dell XPS M1530 with an AverTV Hybrid NanoExpress ATSC. Unfortunately, I've yet to be able to get help getting this device to work. My system (Vista Ultimate x32)'s Device Manager show the card installed, yet, Windows Media Center's TV setup program claims that "The TV signal cannot be configured because no tuner hardware was detected..."I've installed followed Dell's installation instructions from AverTV;s weblink (AVerMedia MPD Global - TV tuner, HDTV tuner card, PCTV,PCTV tuners, TVtuner, TVBox, TV box, Vista TV Tuner, HDTV, Hybrid TV Tuner, USB Stick TV Tuner, PC TV Tuners, Media Center TV Tuner, MCE TV Tuners, USB TV Tuner, Dual Tuner, TV Tuner card - AVerT) with no improvent.
I had a rather long chat session with a Dell support technician who concluded I had a software issue. He referred me to Dells "DOC" fee-based tech support area who, according to him, could solve my "software" issue. My expeience with AVerMedia's tech support has been non-productive as well, to date. Based on priciples, I don't want spend additional funds to get this device to work with the software provided when i bought the system from Dell. I also saw that Microsoft wants $50 to provide tech support (to deal with Windows Media Center- related issues), so didn't bother with that, either.
Perhaps someone in this forum has had good luck with this card. I'd love to hear about it. Is there other software that I could use for viewing TV programming from this card?

The drivers for the card satisfy Vista, MCE will require MCE XP/Vista software encoder. This is what you need to install.

Your express card tv tuner should have come with a driver disk.

Here is you Vista x86 (32-bit) MCE software encoder:
