| Vista 32 | black screen for 2-3 seconds hi guys, Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not. But since I reformatted my lap top I've been having an annoying problem when watching avi movie files. Every time I watch one at SOME point rather it in the beginning, middle or end of the file, the screen just goes black for 1-3 seconds. Sound still goes just fine, no error messages or anything. It's just ONCE everytime I'm watching a video file. Anyone know whats causing this or how to fix it? |

| Vista | Re: black screen for 2-3 seconds When this happens, do the video/audio get out of sync or does the video catch back up? And, just to clarify, this is only with avi files, right? Cheers |

| Vista 32 | Re: black screen for 2-3 seconds Once the screen "un-blacks" itself it seems like everything is still in sync. But yesterday Lenovo finally put there system update thing back online (they had taken it off a month ago without notice) and I was able to finally download all the drivers and what not I needed that I lost after reformating. So far it seems to have stopped. So I'm guessing it was just a driver or something. I woulda tried to find it myself with the Lenovo System update before they took it off for a month (when I needed it), but there method to locating the driver on their site was unorthodox for lack of a better term, then required you to instal it, find it in the system registry, extract, restart the computer......it found about 454 megs worth of them <_< and theres no way I woulda done that manually! So for the time being It might be safe to say the problem is fixed |

| Vista | Re: black screen for 2-3 seconds OK, what matters is that you’re up and running well again. I noticed that Lenovo’s driver discovery was a bit off when I was trying to reinstall the driver for a ThinkPad’s modem a while back. Things are up and running again though, you say? Cheers mate, |
