| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Vista MCE x64 + Virgin STB + DVB + XBox Extenders = PERFECT!!! PLEASE READ!!!! ![]() Okay, I think i've lost my mind crawling through hundreds of threads (most of which were at least 2 years old!) regarding the slick, seamless intergration of a Virgin cable STB with Vista MCE so I thought I would go straight to the source and ask you guys! Background I have a shiny Silverstone Media Centre case running Vista Home Premium (64bit). I have a Geforce GT9600 HDMI graphics card, onboard optical sound, 500GB HDD and 2GB RAM. This currently sits underneith my 50" Plasma and has worked (almost) perfectly for the last year as a HTCP using a NovaT Dual DVB tuner to record and watch digital terrestrial channels. What I'm looking to achieve: Basically, I want the original box to sit in the back room and act as a Media Server. I want to install another freeview tuner (of the same brand) bringing the count to 4 DVB tuners in total (I have read alot about this and have been assured it is possible). Secondly I want to integrate a Virgin STB so I can watch my cable channels through the VMC interface. I understand this can be achieved using a TV tuner card but had mixed responses about the simultaneous use of s-video and DVB. Finally, I want to be able to 'extend' all of this functionality to 3 XBoxes throughout the house. So potentially 3 TV's all with a different channel on whilst recording another and the cable feed. I look forward to ANY and ALL responses which may shed light on this!!!! Thanks |
