| windows vista ultimate 32bit | Too many pictures Hello, I would like to know if it possible to stop certain functions to cease operating, because when I store a picture or photo, it is stored in these locations > 1/ windows photo gallery 2/ pictures 3/ windows media center 4/ picasa ( the one I prefer ) I would say that is a kind of overkill. Can they be disabled or maybe another solution. Thanks. Last edited by Dwarf; 08-08-2009 at 05:44 AM.. |

By default, images (pictures and/or photos) are stored in C:\Users\<YourUserName>\My Pictures (unless, of course, you have changed the default location). Each graphics application is able to reference that location (after being directed to it). Sometimes, this can give the impression of an image being stored in multiple locations when, in reality, it isn't. |

| Vista home premium 32bit | Re: Too many pictures I think Dwarf is right. The other functions only refer to them with shortcuts. Go e.g. into Windows Photo Gallery and right click on a picture. Then click on "Open file location". That will get you to where the pictures are really stored. |

As this is my first post now that the question is solved, do I need to do anything so the people know that it is finished. Your help was appreciated Megiston. |

| Vista Home Premium 32 bit. SP1 & SP2 | Re: Too many pictures Yes, you are right they are stored in pictures however one problem that I was having is that when I would open up Windows Photo Gallery there would be three copies of the same picture. I used the drag method to the recycle bin to get rid of them. How did I get three copies of each. Also I just deleted HP Photosmart Essential the 3.5 version for Vista, along with HP Digital Imaging and Snapfish as I don't need these services. Wife works at Wal Mart so she takes the card if she wants hard copies. As you can tell I'm new at this photos stuff so any advice on this would be great. Attached is a screen shot of the HP programs that came with the computer. Is there any other bloat I can get rid of? I am using A HP Deskjet F4135 printer. Thanks. |
