avi playback in green negative

I downloaded my video from my camera and tried to view it through media centre and media player but it came out in the green negative. Our windows is vista 32 bit. Tried to download updates but came up with messages of not enough space - due to wrong download - was for xp. Then did the update for vista and said it wasnt applicable for the computer. Can you help me please. The computer always did it as it is only a few months old and the graphics card is an Asus EAH4650 and we have done all the updates for it just recently.

Hello kiwibabs,
So, you have the latest drivers for your video card, and all the Vista updates.
From what you are describing, i would say it's a codec/file type error.
Can you check to see what format your video camera is, what format the files you are trying to play are.
What type of camera is it, make and model.
Take a look and post your results, good luck.

Hi kiwibabs,

Are you still having trouble with this? If so, as stoneys-nutz says, it could well be a codec error. Try the FFDShow codec.

Free-Codecs.com : Download FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder 2009-10-27, FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder 2009-10-27 and FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder 2009-09-17 SSE : FFDSHOW is a DirectShow decoding filter

Re: avi playback in green negative

Thanks to the replies on my playback problem. I downloaded the codec required ffdshow and I can now see video taken on my digital camera. I now have another problem to solve and will post this separate. Thank you once for the help.
