For a DVD to play in a DVD player, it has to have two folders:
AUDIO_TS
VIDEO_TS
I don't know why but the
AUDIO_TS folder is always empty whereas the
VIDEO_TS folder contains your .VOB, .IFO and .BUP files. If you only have a .VOB file then you are going to need some software to create the other two so that it can be played in a DVD player.
I can't confirm whether this does actually work because I don't burn videos in the way that you're trying to, but apparently
Nero Burning Rom will do this for you.
What I do is to convert the .VOB files into .wmv (well I don't actually do this, I rip the DVD straight into a .wmv/.avi file) and burn that using Windows DVD maker. I would recommend that you use
Any Video Converter as I have used this in the past and its great.
