    Media Center TV Set-UP & EPG fail to download & install...

    Hi;

    Restored Vista Prem 32-bit along with Media Center (both originally were working fine) but am now unable to complete TV SET-UP. During tv set-up, receive the message...... " UNABLE TO UPDATE LATEST TV SET-UP OPTIONS FOR YOUR REGION " .....

    Next phase of the program's installation would be the Program Guide download,
    but it only gets to 60% then runs on forevevr without any further guide completion.
    All other aspects of tv set-up work as expected.

    I've tried every Media Center program set-up/installation option available but cannot get past these two issues (the one presumably creating/causing the other). Have also researched online every possible fix for this fairly well known problem but cannot seem to find a workable solution.

    Any suggestions at all would be genuinely appreciated-

    The only problem i see is you have a NTSC PAL region problem! NTSC is used in the United States PAL is used mainly in Europe etc,. Im not sure but maybe you have PAL as a setting or maybe your using a PAL TV tuner.

    I would make sure that both your Media Center software is set to NTSC and your TV tuner is NTSC.

    If youre in Europe or elsewhere where they use PAL you have to make sure Media Center is set to PAL and your TV tuner is PAL. TV tuners cannot be switched from NTSC to PAL or vice versa .

    When you buy TV tuners make sure that you buy the correct ONE! Check your local region to make sure you buy the correct one! From what i know only the United States uses NTSC the rest of the world uses PAL


    PAL and NTSC are two diffrent TECHNICAL FORMATS used by TV broadcasters worldwide, from what i know
