Videos cannot be opened/found

    Videos cannot be opened/found

    My first post from a computer challenged senior-hope I'm in the right forum!
    Photos and videos from my digital camera are imported to the camera's downloaded software and also to Windows Pictures. Both formats play in the downloaded software but when I try to play a video while in pictures- a message comes up "unable to open" and stopped running etc.When I try In Windows Media Center " video cannot be found"



    I think I need a codec ? installed to play these videos and if so are there specific and SAFE free codecs to download and how to do this properly. Hope I have clearly indicated my problem. Thank You all!

    maybe you might try to change the video type or try to relocate it to somewhere else and open it there or try to convert it to other available type you may try this "Any Video Converter" but this is just my little advice don't do it if there is something wrong but maybe you can tell your problem more specific cheers

    Either you can use a converter to change the format or you can download K-lite codec and solve this issue.

    Hi,

    What make of camera do you have? Is it a canon?

    You will need the canon codec if it is. OK

    Canon RAW Codec
