Windows Media Player 12- Can I use it on Vista?

    Windows Media Player 12- Can I use it on Vista?

    Hey guys,

    Been having problems with my WMP 11, I'm going to uninstall it and then reinstall it. But, is it possible to download WMP 12 for use on Vista? Would it work properly?

    My WMP 11 doesn't like to play HD video, the sound always gets phucked up, I even upgraded sound drivers - codecs for it. My friends WMP 12 plays them fine.

    Will WMP 12 work with Vista?


    EDIT: Looks like you cant uninstall wmp 11. -_- And theres no download for wmp 12 on microsoft's website.

    It appears that you can use WMP12 with Vista. You may have to download it from sites that are not familiar to you. I cannot recommend that you take this action, but merely bring it to your attention

    Hmmm. Thanks for the insight. I may steer clear of it then, and keep using Quicktime. I'm done trying to get WMP 11 to work, it just won't.

    The sound is choppy, always.

    WMP 11 won't play mpeg-4 with AC3 audio, in case that's what you have. In most video software like Nero, you could recode it to use a different audio format.

    Well it's definitely mpeg-4 videos that I'm trying to play, I don't know about the audio though......The videos play, the audio is bad.

    Download MediaInfo and open one of your files in it. Select View and Tree. Post a snapshot that shows the video and audio format.
