Hi Guys,



Newbee here with a question.
I have my laptop connected to my LCD TV via HDMI cable. I am seeing some tearing on the TV screen however when I watch video on the laptop screen it seems to be OK.
Card is an NVidia GeForce 8200M G , Laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ60 430SA,TV is a Toshiba Regza.
Audio runs through a seperate two chanel HIFI amp via the headphone socket on the laptop.

Any ideas how to sort this? I use Windows Media Centre and have downloaded Vista codec package 6.2.1 from Shark007 from here -- |MG| Vista Codec Package 6.2.1 Download

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have checked via device manager and it tells me the current driver is up to date, do I need to install another driver? I also dont have any audio through HDMI so does this mean I also need an audio driver?
Please excuse my questions if they seem obvious , I am not very computer literate.

Edit to add = The laptop is new/reconditioned so perhaps the drivers did not come included in it?

Hi, I have the audio mixer ''playback devices'' set to HDMI and still no audio, this isnt too much of an issue as I can use my HIFI for audio. I went on the NVidia web page and it scanned my computer, it recommended a new driver NVIDIA DRIVERS 1.00.00.59 WHQL even though windows said It was up to date which I downloaded, however my PC's (vista's) ''Data Execution Prevention'' kept closing the NVidia control panel when I tried to set it all up for dual display.
I had to go to a restore point to get it back to the original driver.

I have tried different display resoloution settings and different refresh rates but still no joy.

This is the only TV I have I'm afraid.

This problem only happens when playing video, it doesnt happen as fdar as I'm aware when things like WMC are being shown on the TV screen.

Hi, I have no red icon just the little speaker. When I right click and go to play back devices it gives me two options, speakers (conexant high defination smart audio 221 working) and Digital output device (HDMI) (high definition audio device working)

I have set the latter to default.

I have also set up the speaker arrangement and it now plays sound through the TV via HDMI. Thank you.

I have tried a DVD and the tearing seems to have gone, it isnt a great picture, looks like a vhs video however this could be just the DVD I am watching.

I have just tried the sample videos in vista and they seem the same, grainy and video cassette tape like, however the set up video in WMC seems much much better and as I would expect.

My task manager doesnt have a propertys tab, ctrl.alt and delete? click ''start task manager'' then I have a box with tabs for applications, processes, services, performance, networking and users.

Ah , I just right clicked the task bar and got into customize but there is no realtek in there. I did a search for realtek in the start menue search bar and it came up with nothing.
