Cannot download Office Suite2007 or any other programs!

I know I need to find time to come here and just take a look at the difficulites you all are having, but I just CANNOT get impressed over VISTA. It's beyond disappointing to me.

I find I cannot even download free trials of Office Suite, or Publisher, or CuteFTP, or anything else!

In Office, when I'm in the free download area, I can complete ALL the other catagories, but the MINUTE I put in the language, the page rolls over, and wipes everything out -instead of sending me onto the download page! So do the other download areas.

Since VISTA won't work with my old Cute, or Office or Publisher, and I cannot even download these from online to see if they're compatible, what am I supposed to do with this machine?

I work web designs, and my sister and I do an ENORMOUS amount of Ministry writing. This program is absolutely worthless to us! I will NOT buy the products only to find they don't work, unless I can trial them to see what bugs there are in all of them. And I don't have two weeks to sit down and get into the "guts" of this machine and methodically work it all out.

Can ANYONE give me some simple pointers as to how to retrieve download pages??? I got the folder fix from this place, only to have my machine delete it from my system (not even on my desktop or in my download file), so I had to come back here to retrieve it again!

I don't think I have EVER dis-liked a system so much in my life -but am desperate to at least try some of these products on this "equipment". MSN never answers, and my Irish blood isn't fairing too well at this point!

I cant see why Cute, Office and Publisher wont work, what versions have you tried.

Being the admin/designer of this site and a few others I also do alot of web design, and so far every program I used to use in XP has worked without any problem.

I don't think anyone understands. NOTHING downloads, or will open into my computer since I now have VISTA!

I've been in enough other forums to note that FEW (if anyone) is thrilled with this program. That being said, how can you download a program when you entered all the info, then click "English" as your language, only to have the whole page roll over -wipe out all your info, INSTEAD OF taking you to the download page???

I don't know if they'll work or not. I know NONE of my old programs will work with VISTA. Notations come up time after time saying they are not compatible with 16 bit incription (all mine were 32), so I want to TRY the ones that are SUPPOSED to be compatible -BEFORE I buy!

My gosh - all the programs I paid so much for are WORTHLESS on here! You think I shouldn't be upset? I'm not spending $100's more dollars only to find nothing "new" will work either!

Can anyone point me to a place where at least WORD will allow me to download?

Thanking you again. And I'm sorry if I do sound angry -but I'm not in the habit of wasting money. I think it's a stupid practice and wasn't raised that way.

If everything was ok with your old machine, Why did you get a Vista rig?

I for one am very Happy with Vista, I use my laptop everyday for work and have had zero problems....

Wasn't a choice! (Waaa!) Ha. My old machine died! It was nearly 10 years old, and I've not have traded it in for anything!

But it was a Packard Bell that others had had so MUCH trouble with that they aren't even made in the U.S. anymore -last I heard!

I don't mean to sound so frustrated, but I'm just desperate for someone to point me to ANYthing that will help me get downloads or have anything work right on here!

Maybe my sister and I goofed. We bought the in-house one at Staples -the one they used for demos. But it was the only one they had left, and we HAD to have a machine!

Can ANYONE tell me why nothing registers with downloads? I even have MSN people helping me (or trying to) with their editor. Since I can't download any FTP programs, I'm trying to go that route. They say the program works find, clean this, do that ... and I do, and still nothing registers properly on the pages I'm trying to build! I've NEVER had anything happen like this, or seen anything like it!

Thanks to anyone who can offer help! Hoping to resolve some of these issues soon! If not here, maybe another forum can shed light -but I feel suffocated by lack of being able to work anything on here!

If I was setting up a demo machine for instore use, I would have it totaly locked down, have you tried a full reload of vista?

Hi ... no, I haven't. We didn't even get a CD with this to reload anything. It came with so little to start, and no CD to reload either. Maybe I just got taken. Thanks so much for your patience.

It might have a restore partition that will allow you to do a reload.

I don't think you were taken, just sold a Vista machine with a damaged or severely locked-down OS. I've been on 32-64bit for 10 months now and I've been able to DL and install anything I want. As mentioned, you'll be much better served by a fresh install.
