Word Not Installed for Current User

Here's the deal.
  1. Office 2007 was installed and working fine
  2. I used the Microsoft Cleanup Utility to remove a stubborn non-Office App.
  3. All Office 2007 apps now claim they have "Not Been Installed for the Current User"
  4. I can work around this by elevating to Admin ("Run as Administrator" - obviously this is undesireable for security reasons)
I have tried repairing/uninstalling automatically & manually (i.e. deleting files and registry settings), altering permissions on setting files and registry nodes but nothing has worked.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Other issues of interest - we use "Roaming Profiles" so some "AppData" is stored on the server and may be exacerbating this problem.

Re: Word Not Installed for Current User

Hi,
I'm just wondering if you ever got this sorted out. I have the same issue, though it applies to the whole office suite.
Thanks

Re: Word Not Installed for Current User

Yes, i have tried repairing Office. This failed.
I then uninstalled office and reinstalled I still get the error "Not installed for the current user."
If I turn off the user security it works, or if I run it as administrator it works.
But not otherwise.
Any ideas?

nope.
it was Adobe CS3Cleaner - however this requires installation of windows install cleanup.
I spent part of yesterday uninstalling windows - trying to remove all office items in the registry and then reinstalling office. Same response

Re: Word Not Installed for Current User

Alittle piece more to the puzze.
THe Event viewer quotes the following error fromt he SOurce WMI
"A provider PffProv12, has been registered in the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) namespace Root\MSAPPS12 to use the local system account. This account is priveledged and the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly impersonate user requests."

Is this the same as - "not installed for the current user'?

The previous error notes the "Detection of product '{90120000-0030-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'WORDFiles' failed during request for component '{0638C49D-BB8B-4CD1-B191-051E8F325736}'"

Any help anyone/
