| Word crashes when opening .doc in zip folder Hi everyone! Something happened yesterday, I believe it had to do with me installing and Adobe Reader 8 update . For some reason, now I can't open the .doc files out of zipped folder which I had no problem doing before. Even if I unzip it, it still won't open. The Word gives me a line at the bottom of the window "Word is converting file...." and stop responding. I saw some info about possible file association problems, but I don't know how to fix it. I can't open some of the regullar .doc file which I created myself on this laptop, so I'm very frustrated  . Please, help! |

  | Re: Word crashes when opening .doc in zip folder That's a pretty unique issue. Do you have a system restore from before that update? If so, try that. I doubt the association issue at the moment because of the "Word is converting file..." message. That indicates that it is Word that is trying to open the document. By chance are you running Word as an admin? If so, try running it in non-administrative mode. I've had some luck fixing problems that way. |
