Installation Problem of MS Office 2007 SP1 Update on Windows Vista Home Premium

Dear all,

i am newbie to this forum.i came to know about this site from my friend.
i was looking for a solution for my issue for past 3-4 months for the solution of Installation Problem of MS Office 2007 SP1 Update on Windows Vista Home Premium.

please find attached file of windowsupdate.log for the error report.

I would say that the simple solution is probably to do a repair install of Office 2007. There is, however a KB that addresses this problem for Office 2003, which may apply to 2007: How to troubleshoot common Windows Update, Microsoft Update, and Windows Server Update Services installation issues

Hopefully that helps.

In that case, reading the log-file suggests that it's some kind of issue with automatic update. Here's a link to the stand-alone installer for the update: Download details: The 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1)

i have also tried this option manually downloading it from the site and tried to install keeping Office installation DVD in the drive.
also tried to repair office and then tried to install the SP1 it was also helpless......

Wow. That's going to make this progressively tougher to solve. I guess the next step would be a complete reinstall of Office.
