| Newbie Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Office 2002 Outlook and Vista Greetings, I just installed Office 2002 SP3 on my Lenovo Vista notebook and all the apps work except Outlook. When I start it, Outlook initially comes up but then window opens and displays: Microsoft Outlook has stopped working (editors note: gee that's descriptive )A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Don't really want to update to Office 2007 so wondering if anyone has been able to get it to work on Vista. I did do a search and there was a thread that said "If you have Vista, versions 2003 and later of Outlook run well; versions 2000 and 2002 run, but with some problems" so it seems like it can run on Vista. Thanks in Advance, Ray |

If you Google Outlook 2002 and Vista you should find a blog post telling you how to do the modification. However, you do loose some features if I recall correctly. I was stuck in the same situation and ended up going for Outlook 2007. Paid $99 at Office Depot only to find out I could have gotten through my employee discount program for $49 . |

You could also look at Thunderbird, they have a calendar and contacts program to go along with it. Plus they're free. When I went with 07 they only offered the Email program or I might have gone with them. |
