Excel 2003 on Vista

Hi, I have some excel files on my desktop that I like to put in the upper right corner of my desktop. However, whenever I save them, they'll move to the left part of the desktop (placed like a newly saved document or recently downloaded file on desktop). Why's it doing that and how can I stop it?

Re: Excel 2003 on Vista

Hi SilverDragon89,

This is because of your desktop settings. To change this behaviour so that items stay on your desktop where you place them, righ click on a blank space on your desktop and highlight 'View' in the menu that appears. Another sub-menu will pop up. On this menu, click to remove the ticks adjacent to 'Auto Arrange' and 'Align to Grid'. You will need to do this procedure twice as each time a setting is modified in the sub-menu, both menus will close automatically.

Re: Excel 2003 on Vista

I do have align to grid on, but i don't have auto arrange on. Also, this only happens with excel and not anything else. I borrowed a friend's office 2007 disc and that version of excel doesn't do this.
