| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Outlook won't open For work reasons I have two email accounts running on my computer. One is Mail and the other is Outlook 2003. Up until a week ago they both ran in parallel with no problem. Suddenly for no apparent reason I can't open Outlook and I get the following error message: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open Outlook window. The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not availab le. Contact your administrator if this condition persists" Help please on how to resolve this. Many thanks. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: Outlook won't open Hi, jonesy5334, and welcome to the forums. First, a point of clarification. You do, indeed, have two accounts running, but the *items* your listed are actually 'programs', unless you mean that your accounts are 'named' mail and Outlook 2003 (which is odd, as you normally don't 'name' the account after the program). By Mail, I assume you mean Windows Mail built into Vista? And the Outlook 2003 - is that set up to check your *work* account? |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Outlook won't open Tks for the response. For clarification, yes I have two separate programs running which are Windows Mail built into Vista and Microsoft Office Outlook. Windows Mail is my everyday personal account and Outlook is set up to send and receive confidential emails via secure.iptp.net on the internet. I have been into Control Panel / Mail and have checked the settings for the Outlook account and even sent a test email which all works OK. When I click on my OUtlook icon, it looks like its going to open with the Outlook screen coming up but just as quickly that disappears and the error message comes up. Hope this clarifies and tks. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Outlook won't open Have checked with administrators and both incoming and outgoing server settings are correct. I have also sent a test email from Control Box / Mail / Email Accounts and everything worked OK. I have accessed my secure.iptp account on the internet and everything is OK there as well. Any more ideas??? |
