    Cannot set Word 2007 to default program

    Hi there.

    I recently downloaded The Ultimate Steal Office 2007 as the uni I go to has upgraded their systems. Now, when trying to open .doc files my pc attempts to open them in Wordpad which makes them unreadable.

    I have attempted to change the default program on .doc files on my pc (by right clicking on a .doc file> open with> choose default program). The icon for Word 2007 is not there so I go C> program files> Microsoft Office> Office12> Winword and click this but it doesn't show on the icon list.

    I can save .doc files and open them by opening Word first and them opening them with that. I'm getting very frustrated with this now so please help!
