| Vista Home Premium | I can't type in Word When I am trying to type in Word I get this message at the bottom: This modification is not allowed because this selection is locked. I get this message whenever I want to type or press anyother button in word. Please tell me someone knows what is going on and how to fix it. |

| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: I can't type in Word Hi Jay, This is because the document that you are trying to modify has been 'Marked as Final'. Does the following symbol appear in the status bar?  This indicates that the document is read-only. To toggle this, click on the office button, select 'Prepare' and click on 'Mark as Final'.  |
