Re: Microsoft Office 2007

Do they all run correctly off of your Start Menu -> All Programs... or your Desktop?

Thanks Zyonix, they all run ok from the desktop, and start menu-all programs, but if I pin them to the start menu, they will not run.

Re: Microsoft Office 2007

Ah, I've heard of this problem before... have you ever used CCleaner... if you've ever had like all of the boxes checked when doing a regular clean, I think that MAY be the problem.

But oddly, I'd recommend USING CCleaner and doing a full Registry Scan & Clean. If you've used a cleanup program that alters things on your Start Menu, there may be a File Path Reference registry error... something that could be fixed with programs like:

CCleaner
TuneUp Utilities
System Mechanic
Registry Clean Expert

I'd recommend TRYING CCleaners Registry Clean first due to it being the only FREE program out of the above listed applications.

I HOPE this helps... if these programs can't do it, we're going to have to do it manually.

Re: Microsoft Office 2007

I looked into this same issue for a friend. Seems it is somewhat common.

I found this fix, although my friend has not tried it yet.

Re: Microsoft Office 2007

So basically, it's a context menu update. If the person has downloaded, installed, or even manipulated, themselves, something that ALTERS the Context Menu, Start Menu, etc... This could be one of the issues found.

I recommend reading this thoroughly:

Re: Microsoft Office 2007

It sounds like you may have something running automatically that is changing your settings on the fly, or else a scheduled task that is running something like CCLeaner after a certain amount of time after login?

Re: Microsoft Office 2007

have a look at your event logs and error logs to see if you can track down the error.
You say it works a couple of times so you should get an idea what timeline the program/error occures.
