I too, am having problems with MS Word. In the past couple weeks it has been giving me messages like" MS word error, has to shutdown program" blah, blah. Seems anytime I open a document, or type one, I get the message. It's aggravating. What's wrong with the program?

Any ideas what to do to fix? Anytime I have a problem, it says "workaround" - well, I think it's time they FIND the answer to the problem, dont you?

I was having the same problems. It happens that when Vista does automatic updates and your Word program is open, then a lot of problems start happening with your Word program. I found the answer at Microsoft Support at the following link. This is the second time I've had to use it. It works great. I must remember to close Word when I am away from computer.
