Microsoft Outlook 07 mail program

When I go to send an email, and I type in a partial name, (say just a letter C) I see a bunch of names from my address book that start with C, but also names that are not in my address book. Why is this how do I stop this.....help

Re: Microsoft Outlook 07 mail program

Hello Sparky,

Welcome to the Vista Forums.

Are you using Windows Mail? WM creates a list of the last 29 (I think) email addresses you have sent emails to. I suspect that is where the other names are coming from. More info here: Recently Used Addresses in Windows Mail

I'm using Outlook from Office 2007 and it doesn't seem to check for names until I hit the send button and I believe it is only using my Outlook contacts.

Hope this helps.
Please keep us posted.

You can turn feature off. Tools/Options/Preferences Tab/Email options. In this window click on Advanced Email Options. Uncheck the items in the pic.
