| Vista Home Premium x64 SP2 / Windows 7 RC x64 | Re: whats up with trial versions of office Most computers from OEM's come with trial versions of Microsoft office unless you added office when you purchased it and it doesn't sound like it. If you wish to continue to use Word, excel, etc. then you will need to purchase a license for the programs / package you want. Office Home and Student is the norm and for around $100 you get word, excel, Power Point, one note. If you want/need Outlook then purchase office standard or purchase Outlook separately. If you are not locked into Microsoft office then try Open Office which is free, based on an older version of office and can handle office formats (.doc, .xls, etc) but not office 2007 formats (.docx, xlsx, etc). |
