we have microsoft office excel 2007 installed on our computer, however we like the older version 2003 better. are we able to load both on the same system? or do we have remove the 2007 to install 2003?

For earlier versions of Office products, MSFT published a number of KB articles that describe the issue of having more than 1 version of Office in OS, andthey did list some significant potential problems.

Some of the articles were KB 292491, 218081, 828956 and 290576.

In any case, you would really have to uninstall 2007 before installing 2003.

Hi Howard,

I think you could install 2007 and 2003 at the same time. My colleague helped me to install PowerPoint 2007 and PowerPoint 2003 on my old PC. Hope the following information helps you.

Information about using 2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that is running another version of Office

BTW, I like 2007 more.

i would recommend you use the latest version of office 2007 , because you can receive patches and updates for office 2007 easily as that of 2003. Its an old version and therefore has got limited support / patch upgrade etc. I find office 2007 very good coz it has lots of features than the old 2003 however it is still compatible with older office 2003 documents.

Agree with MSDOS. I like Office 2007, especially PowerPoint 2007's interface, very easy to use. I can set themes and add animations and then preview it in seconds.

Welcome for your discussions!

Re: office excel 2007 & 2003 on same computer?

Hi all,
When upgrading from 03 to 07, I had the option of keeping (mean keeping 03 version and installing 07's) or upgrading all included apps within Office
I chose to keep XL03 only; it works like a charm on my work laptob XP SP3 - both version run fine
