issues with XP jpegs & word docs

Hi there!

I bought a new computer today -- running Vista Home Premium (some notifications have suggested that they recommend installing 64-bit versions of software, so I assume it is 64-bit).

I had imaged the c: drive from my old xp laptop using Ultraiso onto my portable hard drive into an iso (split into several .isx files). I mounted it to onto the new computer and tried to open some JPEG, word & excel files that were in there and got a message saying that the file format is not supported or I don't have the latest updates. I've checked all the updates and they are up to date. The files all appear to be in the image - they just won't open. Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks in advance!
