Question re Works

Do Works questions go here or ?

I got Works, not Word with my new computer.
Every time I copy and paste something from a web site - mostly words, but also a jpg or two - into a new Works document, it immediately crashes.

I used to be able to do this with Word. Am I to believe that I canNOT do this with Works, or is this a bug, or ???

If I cannot do this with Works, is there a free or cheap writing app that I can use to do this with? I often like to copy things from the web into a document for my own keeping, as opposed to just bookmarking it, because it may disappear from the web page.

Re: Question re Works

I'm surprised that Works is still being offered.
I presume you have the latest version. [I have a mate who was using an older version of Works [ spreadsheet ] & he had to download a MS compatibility pack, File format converter, to allow it to operate properly on his Vista 64-bit system.]

Some time ago I read of a similar prob to yours & this fiddly fix was suggested - "paste what you want onto Notepad, copy it from there, and then paste it into Works."

Re: Question re Works

I thought Works went the way of the Dodo..or at least the way of GWBush..it was of no use anymore! I'm reasonably sure that your problem is outdated software..so your choices would be to either buy a copy of Windows Office 2007 or the free way with Open Office.Org..(their latest is 3.xx).The latter is your best bet IMHO..and it is totally compatible with MS Office/Word etc.
