MS Office 2007 issue...

Ok, i think my office 07 install just went into "Compatibility mode" because the cd key was not activated, however, i dont see, nor is it asking to activate or provide the key?

The icons in the taskbar, desktop, anywhere are all blank now, and documents that opened word, open it, but in compatibility mode...

What do i do?

Re: MS Office 2007 issue...

ok ive narrowed it down a bit, it does not seem to be an activation issue... it seems to be a .NET Framework SP1 issue. Windows Update trys to install the .NET Framework SP1 update (Even though i have SP2 for Vista 64bit ultimate) and the update fails... then renders office 2007 inoperable...making the icons blank, as well as for some reason iTunes... a system restore fixes the issue, but i cannot update to the .NET Framework SP1 update...

Any ideas?

did not work, it installed, but actually rendered office 07 unusable again (I did a system restore that seemed to fix it beforehand) now its broke again lol.

Re: MS Office 2007 issue...

Nothing to worry. You've just opened a document saved in Office 97-2003 format in Office 2007. If you want to get rid of the [Compatibility Mode] message in the title bar simply save it as an Office 2007 document.
