Vista - please wait while windows configures microsoft office ultimate 2007

Hi

I have Vista Home Premium and a brand new Dell Laptop. I've just bought Office Ultimate 2007. Everytime I open outlook or try to take any action, I get "please wait while windows configures microsoft office ultimate 2007". it takes a good while before it goes away.
I have cleared the registry.
I have uninstalled the previous trial office
I have uninstalled ultimate and reinstalled
Turned off the User security
looked at loads of threads
Am at a loss and would be grateful for any help.

Here is a possible fix,found online.

Rename the MS Office & Word Setup files - for me they were located in Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/Setup. I renamed the two exe files in there - Acme & AcmeWord to Acmex & AcmeWordx.

at the risk of looking very dim, i've searched high and low for set up but not found. searched on acme and not found. any thoughts.

May be a blind lead. Do you have your folder view settings to show hidden files
and protected operating system files?

Ihave the same problem and running the command has not resolved it. Any other suggestions. I have also downloaded and run the windows installer fix. HELP!
