How to delete an Outlook calendar

Folks

There are similar threads, but I might be lucky enough to have a twist on the problem.
I have a PST with a main calendar ("Work Calendar"). I created 2 calendars under this (Cal1, Cal2). At this point, I want to delete my work calendar and just use Cal1 and Cal2. I moved Cal1 and Cal2 out from under "Work" to the main PST level. However, the option to delete the work calendar is still greyed out. Unfortunately, all 3 are in the same PST.

And now, my MobileMe sync with my iPhone shows my calendars as blank since I presume nothing is under the "Work" calendar! THis is not fun. Please advise. Thanks.

Re: How to delete an Outlook calendar

Hello cdnhoser,
I'm not quite sure that I understand exactly what you are asking & you don't say which version of Outlook you are using. If it is 2007 -
Go to Calendar > File > Data File Management> Calendar tabs. [check also in Data Files tab.]
You should see the calendars listed and use the remove "button" to delete whatever you don't require.
Remember Outlook does not allow you to delete or rename the primary calendar.
Post back & tell us how you go.

Yes, sorry, it was indeed Outlook 2007.

And, I think your last sentence nailed the problem - Outlook does not allow you to delete or rename the primary calendar. Somehow, that primary calendar got renamed to Work Calendar. I was trying to rename it.

Do you know why Outlook won't let us rename/delete? Is there any work-around?

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Have you tried start >all progs >MS Office >MS Office Tools >MSDiagnostics ?

Have you checked Outlook > Help > MS Office Outlook Help > Left hand side in blue, Calendar?

See if you can find any further info here - Outlook 2007 Solution Center

Thanks for the suggestions. The MS Diagnostics tool was definitely cool, but didn't unveil any issues.

And I have already checked out the Calendar help under MS Outlook.

Am I just totally hosed here? Are these forums trolled by MS admins at all?

Sounds like something they should address/fix. Thanks again.

[Yes this forum is checked out by many people - possibly some one out there will provide a new suggestion, or ten.]
It would seem that your problem is not unique, & the right solution is very hard to locate.[ if it exists.]
Should you find an answer please post back.
If we here can help further we will do likewise.
[??? Last resort, uninstall / reinstall ???]
Good luck.
