| vista home | Help making outlook the mail default in Vista? Arg! I can't seem to set Outlook as my default mail client. I've checked the default box in Outlook but it keeps reverting to Windows Mail. Outlook is NOT listed in the default programs section of the Vista control panel, nor is it listed as a program in "Program and Features." And yet it is on my computer and has been working just fine for 9 months. Help? I need to make Outlook the default so I can sync it with my iPhone. Any solutions out there? |

| Vista Ultimate 64-bit, SP2 | Re: Help making outlook the mail default in Vista? Presumably you have done both of these things. Outlook - Tools - Options - Other - General - tick "Make Outlook the default program etc - click ok. Outlook - Help - Office Diagnostics You may even have to consider uninstalling Outlook & reinstalling to see if that corrects your problem. Let us know how you go. |

| vista home | Re: Help making outlook the mail default in Vista? Thanks. Yes, I've tried those steps and it still won't work. I'll see if I can locate the set up material to re-install. I'm hoping it won't come to that. Thanks again. |

| Vista Ultimate 32bit SP2 | Woops, sorry. That sort of explains the problem. Yes, easiest is probably to export the pst file, re-install Outlook, and then import the pst back gain. You may also want to make sure you have registered the program, yet I do not really think that could be the problem.. |
