microsoft office 2003

Having trouble getting Office '03 to work with Vista. I burned all the files on a CD-R from my old computer and tried uploading them on my new computer. When I try and start Excel it says that the OS is not presently configured to run the app. I tried installing a converter and then hasn't resolved the situation. I think I might be trying to install the wrong converter. Not very tech savvy...anybody know for sure the converter that I need for this?

Jguagl1,
Office 2003 does work happily on Vista.
You only mention a problem with Excel. Do the other Office progs work?
Does you license extend to using it on another computer?
As a matter of interest why haven't you used your disk to load it onto Vista?

Re: microsoft office 2003

It is all of Office...that's a good point though, b/c I got Office '03 from when I was student and was able to download it for free through the university. So it might be a license problem...I guess I assumed it has something do with the OS b/c of the error messege
