office error message?

I've got vista home edition and office 2007. Everything is working fine w/ both vista and office (as far as I can tell), but my computer keeps giving me the following error messages.

"Solve a problem with Microsoft Office system software

Microsoft Office system has stopped working properly. A cumulative update is available for your Microsoft Office product that solves many of the problems customers have reported, and it might address this problem

IMPORTANT: To get available updates for your Microsoft Office system product, you need to use Microsoft Update (a service available within Windows Update). If you dont' have MS Update installed, you'll need to install it before you can download updates for MS Office."

My computer is set to automatically update, and when I run check for updates manually, it says my computer is up to date.

Is there actually something wrong? If not, is there a way to stop these error messages from getting displayed?

DK

Do have just your vista set to be updated, or vista and office (has to be set seperately)?

Re: office error message?

You certainly should install SP2 for Office 2007. You can find the update at:

Re: office error message?

Did the upgrade. Thanks for the tip. Since I only saw the error on occasion, I can't tell yet whether this actually fixed the problem, but I'm guessing it will.

Note that w/ the upgrade I started getting another error about "Office application version does not match", which required this update to resolve.

Re the new recommended update, Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager.

Interesting - I had to uninstall Business Contact Manager because of getting an error message when originally attempting to start Outlook 2007.
However it's probably worth trying in your case DKP.
