It depends on how you saved the file. Word 2007 adds an (x) to the extension of the file name, Example.docx, other versions of Word saved the file as Example.doc. Look to see how the file was saved, if the file was saved as .docx and you look for it as a .doc file you will not find it and it will not show up if you specify the type of file to look for. Use the star dot star *.* to locate the file. And in the Word title bar at the top, does the file name show up next to Microsoft Word, this is the default setting for the file to be .docx To check your save settings go to the Office button, word options, save, and check the save file in this format and then notice the default file location. That is the directory you want to go to in order to find your file. Also if you are saving your files as .doc you will lose out on some of Word 2007 neat features.
