When I try to open my wife's email using Outlook 7 we get a message that says cannot open our default email folder: File access is denied. You do not have the permission to access the file c:/users/myname/appData/microsoft/outlook/outlook.pst. Comcast is my internet provider and the mail account is setup through them. Please Help!

Hi,
First do you have separate log-on's?
It sounds as thought the file is not there or you are trying to import it?
Have you used Outlook to set up the account in your log-on or are you importing the file?

Yes, we have separate logins using Vista. We are trying to log into her Outlook account. We get that message when we click on Outlook under her profile.

OK,
How did the account file get created?
Are there any email messages in Outlook which are not on the server?
i.e Saved to a local folder in outlook which is not listed on the server.
If not: -
Try deleting her account in Outlook & start again.

I can't get beyond the error message box to do anything in outlook when I click ok it just closes outlook. Also, I have another computer and I can access her outlook account just fine on that one. I am running windows xp on that one. The problem just started when I moved and had to set the computers back up. Never had this problem before I moved.
