Install Office after clean install of Vista

    Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 which i bought early 2008. I got fed up with it running slow recently so i did a clean install of Vista Home Premium.

I have just tried to re-install MS Office Home and Student 2007 which came with my laptop when i bought it. I enter the 25 character product key (correctly) from the sticker on the back of the cd wallet but it gives me a validation error and suggests i may have incorrectly entered the product key.

I have performed a clean Vista install before a few years ago and didn't have an issue re-installing Office last time with this very disk

    What could cause this?

    Thanks,

    Alex

The most common problem is mistake with zero and oh, make sure you are doing it correctly.

TMS computers could be picking this up as a new computer or number already used, you need to call to activate.
See if these numbers help. At least they will tell you who to call.

    Hi Cookstein,

In case the product key has ”B” and “eight(8)” try to interchange ”B” and “eight(8)” and check if it works.
