Running VS 2008 and MSSQL 2005 on a laptop

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of buying a laptop time this time and I was wondering if
anyone has any experience with running VisualStudio 2008 and MSSQL
2005 on a laptop? Please include your processor, and memory as well.

I'm looking at this one which has 2 Gigs RAM.

Thank you
Maz.

That is better than what I am using (having VS2005 Team, VS2008 Team and SQL
Server2005 Developer Edition in stalled, plus AutoCAD MAP2008, Office2007
Pro. OS is VISTA Ultimate). I'd make sure the screen displaying OK when
resolution is/can be 1600x1200.

That should work OK.
I'm using a 2 year old Gateway with a single core Turion and 2 Gig. Running
Vista Home Premium with VS 2008 & SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition. Works
fine for me.

Hi Maz!

I've got an old T2450 with 1GB RAM and it runs just fine.

Get more memory. You can never have enough memory.

I have a Dell Latitude D830 with 4GB that's about 6 months old. It's really
fast. I bought it with the minimum amount of memory, and upgraded it myself,
because it was tons cheaper. Check out Fry's if you have one, or
http://memorysuppliers.com if you don't.

I'm running Vista Business, VS2008, SQLServer, Office 2007, etc. It's
awesome.
