| | Request for the MSFTs Could someone do a futurepost in this forum with the subject line 'READ BEFORE POSTING - PROGRAMMING QUESTIONS ONLY' with details about how to find the correct group before posting in this newsgroup? It seems more than half the opening questions in this newsgroup are not related to .NET at all. |

| | Re: Request for the MSFTs Or simpler - just change the description of the forum? General Discussion (as it apparently* appears on one of the online MS forums) isn't very specific... Marc *=from asking people mis-posting here... I haven't seen it myself. |

If someone else made a futurepost here they'd probably get flamed and one of the MSFTs would delete the post. -- Leon Mayne http://leon.mvps.org/ |

| | Re: Request for the MSFTs Leon, Where did you get the idea that MSFT moderate the newsgroups, nobody is doing it as it are UseNet newsgroups. MSDN use the newsgroups to give help to MSDN subscripters, which is done by MSFT, they are in noway moderate the newsgroups. The deleting of post is not done by MSFT. This is only as it is spam or as asked to the newsgroup admin, as is normal with usenet newsgroups. (It does not even make sense as everything is very quick loaded by by instance Google on their newsgroup servers but not only Google, however everybody who has a newsserver). I'm not looking for a philisophical discussion about who owns usenet and the process of moderation. |

I'm not looking for a philisophical > discussion about who owns usenet and the process of moderation. newsgroup on microsoft.com somewhere. The dropdown makes a guess at what the group is from the last part of the name. So all of the groups ending in ".general" show up as "General Discussion". Guess which one is probably the first one in the list. I actually sent in a complaint on Connect, and there's also a place in the web discussion groups on microsoft.com where you can submit a complaint. I did that too. Think how those people who post here erroneously feel. They don't know any better, and they are desperate for some help just like the people who post here correctly. Even if someone futureposted, it wouldn't matter. Most people who come in with a question just post it, they don't actually look at the messages prior to doing that, or they might realize it's a programming newsgroup. RobinS. GoldMail.com |
