| | ip address problem sorry i have no idea where to put this discussion in so i just put it in general OK well this is kind of a long story but ill make it as short as i can. a few days ago a storm came and electricity hit my cable box outside. The electricity continued on and destroyed my phones and quite a few other things. It destroyed my modem and router (and everything connected to the router) and also the ethernet connection port on the back of my computers. so i had to buy new modem, router, phones, and an ethernet adapter port to go into the mother board. unfortunately my xbox 360 was also connected to the router. i was hoping maybe only the ethernet cord was bad but when i put a new one in, the ip address still failed. My xbox still works fine but there is no internet (which was the problem with the computers too). so do i have to send it in to microsoft again? or is there something else i could try that might fix the problem? thx for any and all suggestions, acoolj |

You will want to find an xbox support newsgroup to ask this question. But, that said, my assumption is that if everything else got zapped, so did the ethernet card on the xbox. In the future, consider going wireless to prevent this. ;0) -Darrel |
