sp3 or ie7

I have installed a fresh xp sp2 installation after I quick formatted my
drive,then I upgraded to sp3 then ie7 and all critical updates,after a while
I realized that my windows update service(automatic update)have stoped when I
tried to restart it,it gave a 1058 error code, also I found that my internet
security settings were changed to low,so I changed it back to custom, and
rebooted, after rebooting I checked on automatic update service and it was
disabled I changed it to automatic and started it,it started well, tried to
access windows update site everything went good untill I reavhed the checking
for updates page, when I was redirected to the availabale updates page the
page could not be loaded, and the automatic update service is disabled and
could not be restarted untill reboot, and so on
and each time I reboot the internet security settings changes to low,PLEASE
HELP

Please ask in a Windows XP group. This is a .NET programming group.

As you appear to be using a web interface, start here:

Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Windows. In the
category for Windows XP, find a group for your question.
