svchost.exe error

I can't get rid of this error:
svchost.exe
The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000"

Choose OK or CANCEL

It doesn't matter what I do it keeps coming back. Help I'm in the lost world.

RE: svchost.exe error

Oh, I forgot to add, it says -- The memory could not be "written" after the
instruction error.

I'm having the same problem and I've already checked the memory (it's fine).
The error comes up when I upgrade to IE7. I had rolled back to IE6 and the
error went away. I then tried IE7 again and it's back.

The upgrade also sht down my firewall (my ICS service is missing altogether,
not just off) and my Generic Host Process for Win32 keeps shutting down.

I had gone to SP3, but had to roll that back just so I can use my computer.
Now I get these constant error messages and I lose my sound whenever any of
them fire off.

Re: svchost.exe error

So does anyone know how to fix this error? I can't even get to the start
button on my home screen anymore! I did get into DOS and test the memeory but
there is no problem there. I have no clue where to go from here.

Why are you posting this here? This is not a Windows Operating System
newsgroup. This is a .Net programmer's newsgroup.

You want MS.Public.Windows.XP.General as an example based on the Windows
O/S you are using.
