Crime Victim Charleston General Hospital CAMC Inc WV Speaks out

August 08

About two weeks ago in WV Court of Claims at the State Capitol Building in
Charleston WV in a small room on the third floor a woman filed a request for
Victims Compensation after the death of her 97 year old grandmother. She was
visiting her grandmother at CAMC Charleston General when a woman wearing
scrubs pulled a gun on her outside the 3rd floor room where her grandmother
was a patient. THe woman was disarmed and the gun unloaded after the visitor
was forced to beg and pray for her life in front of other hospital employees.
The victims were not permitted to call police but the visitor managed to
text message a US Secret Service Agent shortly after the incident (no she did
not think she was worthy of Secret Service Protection she had a business
number to an Agent in the Press Room on L St in Washington The District of
Columbia) The hospital seems to have gone to extreme lengths to cover up the
crime. The hospital seems to have engaged in unprincipled behavior. Request a
copy of the complaint from WV Crime Victim Compensation Fund, Court of Claims
the ten page typed complaint and attachments detail eight causes of action
the victim wishes to bring forward to the community concerning not only the
hospitals influence on administration of justice but also the degree to which
she and her grandmother were harassed following the crime. The grandmother
had to be returned to the hospital again and again Although the visitor
telephoned the police later in the day when she left the hospital after
finding someone else to watch her grandmother the police refused to provide a
case number for the report until after the hospital reported the crime. The
hospital canceled emergency training, had not enforced security measures
appropriate to the industry, yet is located in a terrible neighborhood, has
numerous emergency room incidents, and advertises the facility to those who
drive miles to place their vulnerable family members in the hospital. The
hospital has a web site soliciting suggestions and requesting input but fails
to respond which in some cases could mean import information about patients
in transport do not reach ER personnel in other cases the hospital simply
ignores suggestions to require visitor passes and sign in for patient
visitors and on and on. WV is corrupt. The hospital administrator approves
allocations for building a new wing and advertising the public hospital but
has not kept pace with surgeons requests for state of the art equipment
(attributed to more than a few botched surgeries) or for security protocols
standard to the industry. Many nurses are recruited from a lower rung nursing
school, Shermansville College and do not receive records from ER thus
demonstrating the hospital has records management issues as well.

A woman from Virginia went to visit her grandmother at a public hospital in
West Virginia She had a loaded gun held at her head in front of witnesses on
the third floor of the public hospital and was forced to beg and pray for her
life by a woman wearing hospital scrubs. The hospital attempted to white
wash the crime… witnesses are named in a ten page typed document at WV Court
of Claims in the City of Charleston.

When the visitor who was almost killed addressed compensation because the
time she was required to remain in WV caused her to loose her job or leave
her grandmother in the hands of a dangerously negligent staff the response
was, "What do you think you're worth anyway?" She lost her job her apartment
and her furniture waiting for a city government which would not release the
date of the trial or whether the assailant remained at large.

The position assumed by the victim is that her brains are worth at least the
salary of the brain surgeons who are well paid to operate on peoples brains
and that her grandmother's final days were made horrifying. CAMC should show
accountability, but in WV the professionals at CAMC can bank on the fact only
7 % of the population between the ages of 25 and 65 have college degrees. The
state is so concerned with their public image it is impossible for them to
acknowledge the rural industrial slum of Charleston, the capitol city,
reflects a mentality often found only in countries with repressive political
regimes. I would like someone to make it not so much fun for the inner circle
which dominates WV politics to bully critics and repress grievances. Look up
Charleston General Hospital CAMC and ask them to reply to your questions
concerning these statements. THe hospital does not respond to the needs of
the community.. Ask Senator Rockefeller of WV is he has a business interest
in the construction company building a new wing, when what the community
really needs is better security and equipment. Ask him if the Hospital
Administrator graduated from Shermansville before or after the college was
accredited and why he doesn't have a degree in Hospital Administration. Ask
Rockefeller how many shares he holds in local newspapers who never covered
the crime in Oct 07, It takes a Village, to support issues of importance to
everyone WV is a behind a Wall of Silence in Coal Country and Coal is Dirty
Business. WV rewards Censorship and Silence.

Threats of lawsuits or any attempt to restrict my right to free speech and
report crime on the basis of information and belieft are retaliatory will
result in a lawsuit against perpetrators.
