| | V.Studio 2003 - unable to edit Crystal Report Using V.Studio .net 2003 and .Net Framework v1.1, I have successfully created a number of Crystal Reports (v9.1.5 is bundled with it) that use the cross-tab object, and all was copacetic: for some time now, the users have been using the asp.net app to access and generate the reports OK. Recently my boss asked me to modify the cross-tab to add a formula. In V.Studio, this is accomplished by right-clicking the crosstab obj and selecting "crosstab expert". For some reason, nothing happens when I right click the crosstab and select "crosstab expert". The crosstab expert does not appear, nor is there an error message in the Console. In fact nothing happens for any of the right click selections. V.Studio is not locked: I can do other things in it, and I can build successfully. I tried other reports, and the same problem exists. I restored from backup the .RPT file and associated .aspx.cs and .res files, but the problem persists. Q: I think its something in V.Studio, but what? How can I get this crosstab expert editing functionality back again? Something is "stuck" (for lack of a better word). Q: Where are formulas stored? I did a hex dump of the .rpt file but could not find the formula definition in .rpt file. A dump of the .pdb shows nothing either. I have only been backing up files from the inetpub\wwwroot\<appname> directory, and restoring these does not resolve the problem I am afraid that I might have missed some files in my backups that are in another directory, but which one(s)? Thanks for your help, Dan |
