| | Visual Studion 2008 SP1 can not connect to sql 2008 have a fresh new install of VS2008 on Vista 64Bit and SQL management studio. I manage to connect to the sql 2008 from within the management studio but when I am not able to create a database connection from within VS 2008. When I launch the wizard in VS, click the "server name" droplist, I can see the name of the server, but when I try to select a DB, no DB shows up. I using a login with full admin privileges. Thanks in advance |

| | RE: Visual Studion 2008 SP1 can not connect to sql 2008 Hello SalamElias, Thanks for contacting Microsoft Newsgroup Support Service, we find another thread you post in microsoft.public.sqlserver.connect newsgroup which is same as this one. There is already a Microsoft engineer who replies that thread. The sqlserver.connect newsgroup is better for your issue and our engineer will work on it with you there. So, I close this thread as duplicated. Have a nice day! Best regards, Ji Zhou (v-jzho@xxxxxx, remove 'online.') Microsoft Online Community Support Delighting our customers is our #1 priority.
