| | VS 2008 update causes VS2005 to no longer clear undo history on document close OK this is annoying... after I installed VS2008 to try it out, apparently an update was made to the behavior VS2005. Now when I close and reopen a document I'm working on, the Undo history is remembered. I was used to the history being cleared when I closed a document. I used this behavior as a way of checkpointing my progress... now that the history is not reset, it's actually screwing me up. If I want to revert back to the last time I saved, I have to either painstakingly click 'undo' maybe hundreds of times, or close the document without saving and lose my redo history. Is there a way to fix the editor to behave the way it used to? Paul |

| | RE: VS 2008 update causes VS2005 to no longer clear undo history on do That's how I use undo/redo as well. It was already annoying with VS2005, how it saved global undo history for the entire application session. Now the annoyance is magnified with VS2008 -- it saves all the undo history for each document! If anyone knows how to turn this off, please post the solution here.
