| | Unable to download ad-ons Hopefully, this is the correct thread for me. Am unable to download update for Adobe Flash, java or anything else. I cannot download microsoft updates or programs from their website. Microsoft support office helper tried to get me to turn over my computer for her to look at (fastsupport.com) but I was unable to download the platform to enable it. A microsoft systems person will call me but not until next Tuesday. I can download updates from the computer manufacturer, HP. The computer has a XL home edition platform and I have Windows Defender and McAfee loaded. All have been on the machine for a couple of years but the problem wasn't noticed until the automatic updates failed when shutting down the computer recently. Help! |

You should try a discussion group for Windows XP (which I'm guessing you meant when you typed "XL home edition..."). Here's how to find an appropriate group. As you appear to be using a web interface, start here to find an appropriate group: http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.aspx Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Windows. In Windows, open the category for Windows XP. There, choose and appropriate group. |
