Many users have experienced problems opening JPEG files (.JPG) using a
specific program that they want to assign as the default. By design, Windows
Vista opens JPEG files using "Windows Photo Gallery," but if you'd like to
change the program that your computer uses to open a JPEG file, follow these
steps:
Open "Control Panel"Here, you will be presented with a list of file types and exensions. Simply
>>Select "Default Programs"
choose the file type you want to use with a different program, and if you
don't see the program you want to use, select "Browse." From there, you are
able to search your computer, locate the program you want to assign to the
file type.
Once you've found the program, click "OK," and from that point on, that
specific file type will default to the program you've set it to be associated
with.
